Background

A story that has been handed down for generations

Drago Company was officially born, with the act of registration at the Chamber of Commerce, the 28 of September 1929, although for a long time before Drago family was involved in the processing and preserving of vegetables and oily fish.

The history of the company started with the great-grandfather, Sebastiano Drago, who mainly dealt with salting and tuna’s conservation. The famous red tuna, abundant in the Mediterranean, was fished in tuna fishing nets.

Later the son Francesco continued his father’s business, recording over the years a steady increase in the production. Since then, in 85 years, the Company developed day after day, growing and improving itself. With Francesco’s guidance the factory was transferred from Largo Arezzo of Targia in Street Elorina.

Over the years Francesco Drago decided to enlist his son Giuseppe, the current administrator, who assumed the direction of the Company in 1983. With him, the Company moved to C/da Targia, where it is currently based, and it started growing in the production and in the turnover, consolidating itself in the domestic and foreign market.

He was, indeed, the man of the turning point in the company’s business strategy. The intelligence, the passion for the work, the business abilities and the exceptional intuition allowed him to understand market’s evolution and the development of large retailers.

Giuseppe Drago during the years has reorganized the company’s activity, he has invested in technology, optimizing the quality of workmanship and creating a constant balance between innovation and respect for tradition. In the recent years he is also aided by his sons Alessandro e Pierpaolo.

The reasons behind the success of Drago Company, in addition to the expertise gained over the years, are even in the human component: enthusiasm, hard work, professionalism, passion and love for their work have always addressed each company’s choice.
